Do existing worktops need to be removed before templating?
YES, We template directly on top of the units. You can place then back the old worktops onto the units after we have templated until the fitter comes to install the new granite worktops. If you wish us to remove them please arrange this prior to templating by contacting the office for a quote.
Prior to Templating
What do I need to do?
To enable us to template your worktop or vanity unit the following information must be adhered to. Your co operation will be much appreciated.
- All existing worktops must be removed. (Please see question above)
- All sinks, hobs and taps to be removed. We do not do not provide this service.
- It is most important that base units are fixed in their final position and that they are perfectly level.
- New appliances such as sinks, hob, taps etc must be available for the templater to check for measurements as cut out dimensions will not necessarily provide enough information doe accurate positioning.
- Cookers such as Aga, Rayburn and all heavy range cookers must be fixed in their final position before templating.
Do I need to be there when work is being done?
YES, It is important that you are there to answer any questions that might arise. At the templating stage the position of any joins will have to be agreed with you and at the fitting stage you are totally satisfied with the finished result.
Can the walls be plastered after templating?
NO, This should be done before templating and the tiling after fitting. If it is done between templating and installation it will alter the measurements for the final fitting.
How long does it take from templating to fitting?
It will usually take under normal circumstances five working days to the delivery and fit of the worktops.
Can I see the samples of granite that I have selected?
YES, The templating team will have a range of samples including the one that you have selected with them when they come to template or you can visit our on site showroom.
How do I take care of the Granite and is it sealed?
Please see the section care of granite. It will explain everything you need to know. YES, the granite has been sealed.
Do you cut and fabricate the granite in your factory?
Yes, we have a large team of skilled masons and fabricators and all the work is done by us in our factory.
