"Colour is back" says interiors expert

The use of colour is one of the hottest trends in interior design right now, according to an interior designer.

Nicky Pysden, a specialist working for decorating firm DecorateNow, told expresandstar.com: "Colour's coming from everywhere as the nation gets bold with teal, yellow, lime green and rosebud pink."

She added: "Use colour where you least expect it, to accentuate and highlight features in a room."

In particular, the burnt orange shade is becoming popular, according to fellow interior designer Abigail Ahern. She told the news outlet that the colour is "warming" and "signifies tranquillity."

Ahern also claims that the shade will last homeowners into autumn and can be used in pretty much any room. This could include bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms and living rooms.

Those who may be sceptical about using the colour too much can leave the walls neutral and instead opt for colourful accessories, according to Ahern. She said: "Use for upholstery, accessories or on a feature wall - it's rich, elegant and adds that all-important 'pop' of colour."

An article published on interiorish.com last month also told homeowners how to use bright colours in different rooms. It recommended that bathrooms could be painted entirely in one colour for a fun, original feel, whilst it is best to stick to bright and neon accessories in a kitchen to help keep the design clean.
