Few simple touches can turn your bathroom into a 'spathroom', says guide

A new guide has given homeowners ideas on how they can turn their bathroom into a 'spathroom'.
The article, published this week on handbag.com, features advice from sauna and steam room company Nordic on how to create the perfect spa experience at home. One of its recommendations was getting the correct colours in the bathroom.
The guide reads: "Colour acts in three ways - active, passive, and neutral and can positively influence your mood. Use active yellow in your bathroom to capture the joy of sunshine and communicate happiness, or try passive blue, which is considered calming, relaxing and serene. It can even reduce your blood pressure."
Nature is also another way that homeowners can bring a spa-like feel to their bathroom, according to the guide, as it is claimed that greenery such as plants and bright flowers make people happier. Those who are planning to use plants and flowers in their bathroom may want to combine it with wood furniture or granite worktops to tie in with the earthy feel.
Also talking about bringing nature into the home this week, an article published on wickedlocal.com suggested that it can bring a "freshness" to home decorating, as well as elegance and calm.
