It's all about bright colours for interiors, says expert

An interiors expert has claimed that bold bright colours are the way forward for interiors right now.

Cheryl Kees Clendenon of In Detail Interiors told pnj.com: "I am seeing more colour used in home design. More vivid shots of strong colour used as accents in pillows, ottomans, big and bold accessories and lamps. Bold can be calming."

This could apply to any room of the house including bedrooms, living rooms, bathrooms or kitchens.

Other top trends for the home which were listed in the article were all things shiny and patterns. For example, Ms Clendenon said that printed tiles are a big upcoming fashion. However those who are planning to use these in their kitchen or bathrooms may want to make sure that they don't clash with other furniture. For example, homeowners who have, say granite worktops, with probably be better teaming them with more dimple designs and splashes of colours.

The post also mentions that brass accents are big for the home this year, on light fittings or even on furniture feet or bathroom fixtures. Another article about hot home trends for autumn, which was published onchron.com also agreed with this. It said that after a few years of not being in favour with interior designers, brass and gold finishes are "back in a big way."
