3 Bathroom Ideas for 2016
If your bathroom is looking rather tired and doesn’t quite feel like the relaxing, tranquil space it should be, then you’re probably considering undergoing a change. You don’t have to rip out and replace your entire bathroom – a small tweak here and there can make a huge difference.
We’ve looked at some of the top bathroom trends for 2016 and come up with three ways you could update yours this year.
Go natural
Natural materials such as wood and stone are hugely popular this year, especially in luxury bathrooms. Don’t just stick to one material though – a combination of different textures is more pleasing both to your eyes and your hands.
For example, you could have a wooden vanity topped with brown or red granite, swap out that porcelain sink for a polished stone one and add a cool grey quartz flooring. To really make it feel like you’re going back to nature, why not add a plant or some flowers? Bringing the garden indoors is another hot bathroom trend for 2016, so you’ll be even more on-point!
Get rid of the clutter
We all do our best to keep our bathrooms clear of dirty clothes and wet towels on the floor, but where do all those cosmetics go? Often, we simply don’t have enough places to put everything, yet having all our lotions and potions on display can make any bathroom feel messy and cluttered.
That’s exactly why homeowners are focusing on increasing the amount of storage in their bathrooms this year. Storage that doesn’t look like storage is even more popular – after all, you don’t want to fill the room with cupboards and drawers.
Your bathroom should be one of the most relaxing spaces in the house and clearing the clutter will help create a quiet and serene environment.
Bright and white
Beige is out and white is in this year, with white fixtures, accessories and tiles all in high demand. Perhaps this trend has emerged because homeowners want to simplify their bathroom décor or maybe it’s due to the fact that white bathrooms suit all styles of home, whether traditional or modern.
No matter the reason, white bathrooms can feel clean and fresh, but you don’t have to exclude colour completely. A splash of bright blue, pink or yellow can give your bathroom the wow-factor. Alternatively, monochrome bathrooms are big this year too. Why not opt for beautiful, classic white marble flooring paired with a stunning black granite worktop? Now that’s luxurious.
If you find yourself no longer wanting to spend much time in your bathroom, 2016 should be the year you update it. Want some more advice? Get in touch with us, we’re more than happy to help.
