Dekton Laurent has a dark brown almost black background with veins of orange gold crisscrossing its surface.
It’s a unique stone, inspired by Port Laurent marble mined in Morocco, but unlike natural marble it has a pristine finish thanks to the impeccable manufacturing process behind Dekton stones. Dekton Laurent worktops are made from an innovative mix of porcelain, quartz, glass and other raw materials, resulting in a flawless, durable stone. It’s highly resistant to scratches and stains – and you can even place hot pans on your Dekton Laurent worktop without causing damage, although trivets are always recommended. It won’t fade in the sun and it’s a good option for the eco-conscious too, since Dekton is officially carbon neutral for its entire life cycle.
Dekton Laurent has a dark brown background with gold veins that crisscross at an angle, creating an ultra-modern and luxurious-looking surface. It’s a striking design that’s inspired by Port Laurent marble found in Morocco.
Dekton worktops are made from a mixture of quartz, glass, porcelain and other raw materials that are put through a high-tech heat and pressure production process. This offers two benefits: a stable colour that you can’t find in natural marble and a heavy-duty worktop that’s dense and ultra-compressed.
The durability of Dekton Laurent means it is highly resistant to heat. You could place a hot pan or baking tray on the side and it wouldn’t cause thermal shock – although it’s always recommended you use a trivet.
It’s resistant to UV rays, too, which means sunlight won’t affect the colour. It’s an ideal option for outdoor kitchens, as well as for hard-wearing kitchen worktops in sunny homes.
Dekton Laurent worktops are also resistant to abrasion, making it scratch resistant. And because it’s virtually non-porous, it’s impossible to stain, too. This means it needs little in the form of care and will never need to be retouched or updated because its finish will be preserved despite years of use.
In fact, it’s such a low-maintenance material that you only need to wipe it down with a standard cleaner. Just steer clear of bleach or degreasers to keep the surface in pristine condition.
For eco-conscious home owners, Dekton Laurent is a great choice because it’s officially carbon neutral for its entire life cycle. This means the whole process, from extracting raw material all the way to its final state, is carbon neutral.
You can choose the thickness of your Dekton Laurent, whether you’d like it thin and sleek or chunky and solid, or something in between. This allows you to take the same design and use it for kitchen walls, chimney breasts, or flooring, for example, spreading Dekton Laurent throughout your home.
Dekton worktops can be installed in one piece, with no cuts or joins or limits. This creates a beautiful effect of a completely uniform surface that will seamlessly suit any design style – but it’s not an easy material to work with. This means you need an approved Dekton expert to fit the worktop, otherwise there’s a chance it could crack or break.
Furthermore, the manufacturer’s 25-year warranty only applies to Dekton worktops that have been fitted by an approved fitter, like County Stone. We have delivered stunning Dekton Laurent projects and are experts in fitting this material.

At County Stone, we have been sourcing, cutting and fitting top quality kitchen worktops for over 20 years. We are a family business and we take particular pride in our reputation for complete customer satisfaction. We have perfected an approach which has earned us a growing number of 5-star reviews. The areas we cover are throughout East and West Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and into London.
We start by talking you through the stone options for your worktop, either by phone, video or best of all, face-to-face at our showroom. We are completely independent, and you can rest assured that our advice is based on what our experience tells us will best achieve the results you have in mind. Uniquely for kitchen companies in the Sussex area, we will show you the stock of stones we keep at our workshop, giving you the opportunity to see the actual stone for your worktop.
We provide fast quotations for your preferred options. While we are fully aware that we work in a competitive world, we ask our clients to be wary of low cost companies and individuals who do not have the experience of working with high grade granite, quartz and other stones.
Once we have your agreement, we will visit your kitchen and measure up for a detailed and precise template for your worktop. Our workshop team cuts the slabs to size, including any recesses and awkward shapes. We prepare the cut stone with any fine details and polishing. The fitting team returns with your prepared worktop, and fits it accurately in place, ensuring that it is absolutely level and that there are no gaps at the edges or between sections. We make sure you are pleased with the result, and tidy up and leave your kitchen clean, tidy and ready for action.
You can book an appointment at our showroom, and we also provide virtual tours and video consultations. Either face-to-face or by video we will show samples of different stone slabs, and provide quotations for any worktop you choose.
