Any supplier worth their salt will be able to tell you exactly where the raw materials for your new worktop have come from, and how they are crafted to make the perfect surface for your kitchen. From the individual pieces of stone, to the different finishes available – you can also ask to see the pieces in the factory if you’d like to make sure you have chosen the exact worktop you’d like.

What is the templating process?

Templating is when a supplier will come to your home to create a pattern of your planned worksurfaces. You will need to be present to sign off that you are happy with the template and the supplier will then go away and cut your worktop to the desired template before coming to fit it again. This is a good time to ask any questions you have about your quote and the fitting process – before the stone is cut.

What will the aftercare be?

Some worktops and finishes will require more aftercare than others, and it is important to understand this from the start so you know exactly what you’re dealing with and how to take care of your new work tops.
