Neolith is the name on the lips of kitchen designers, architects and homeowners from Barcelona to New York, London… and West Sussex. It is one of a new generation of sintered stone worktops with stunning looks and remarkable durability. It is also the easiest of kitchen surfaces to keep hygienically clean. With multiple design awards, Neolith is well worth getting to know for your next kitchen project.
Neolith’s stand-out looks come from lovely colours ranging from bright white to deep black, with many hues in between. There is also a gorgeous range of matt, polished and natural-looking finishes. Neolith worktops also come with a 25 year manufacturers’ warranty.
What is Neolith?
Neolith is created purely from natural stone subjected to extreme pressure and heat which permanently bonds the elements together. The treatment emulates what happens in the natural world over many thousands of years. The result is a massively strong, appealing product suitable for worktops, table tops, walls, facades and flooring.
Neolith kitchen countertops have gained an impressive reputation because it offers an exceptional combination of fabulous style, lifelong durability and easy maintenance. It is highly sought after for private homes, but also for Michelin-starred kitchens, luxury hotels and prestige building developments.
Neolith is an outstanding quality material, but it does need to be prepared and installed by experienced specialists such as County Stone. It is exceptionally strong, but that means it also lacks any flexibility. It has to be cut and fitted with the utmost precision to ensure the worktop is completely stable. It also needs skilled craftsmen to cut and drill exactly as required, including shapes for sinks and recesses. Edges also need honing by experts to make sure of a beautiful and accurate finish.
Without the right team working on your Neolith worktop, you risk being stuck with a flawed result. Correct fitting is also required to validate the Neolith manufacturers’ 25 year warranty.
Designers, architects and influencers back Neolith for wonderfully creative and practical options for enduring projects for homes and larger buildings. The list of international awards is growing all the time, and includes citations from such prestigious organisations as Architectural Digest, Reddot, A’ Design and Plus X. When you choose a Neolith worktop you are in very refined company!
The range of available formats give designers and specifiers plenty of options for the kitchen, not just for worktops and islands, but also for wall panels and flooring. The widest slabs measure 3600mm, and the deepest are 1600mm.
What thickness of Neolith worktop should I choose?
Neolith recommend worktops of 12mm or 20mm thickness, to allow for a full range of edging options. Rounded options are the best choice for any part of the kitchen which might be knocked, while mitred and bevelled edges open up attractive design options.
Thinner slabs are available in 3mm for furniture and walls, and 6mm for flooring and exteriors. Combinations of Neolith across surfaces. Walls and floors can look superb, and you can explore a range of stylish possibilities with Neolith’s visualiser tool.

Neolith Maintenance and Hygiene
Looking after a Neolith worktop is so straightforward. Simply wipe it down with warm water and a readily available product such as Flash All Purpose Spray, Cif Cream Surface Cleaner, Dettol Surface Cleaner, Mr Muscle Multi Surface Cleaner or Cillit Bang Power Cleaner. Then rinse with water and dry.
In fact, because Neolith is virtually 100% non-porous, the manufacturer says you can even use bleach or alcohol without damaging the stone, and can scrub away without damaging the finish. What’s more, because Neolith slabs are available in large formats, there are plenty of options on worktops without seams or joins which can harbour potentially harmful bacteria.

County Stone were fantastic in helping us find the right worktops for our new kitchen. They had a great display and we really appreciated the opportunity to take some samples home to look at with the cabinets. The installation was efficient and perfectly executed. The fitter gave us some great tips on how to align the butler sink with the worktop edge and even made a bespoke window which looks fantastic. We are very pleased
